About This Site

St. Joseph County Busted Mugshots is a privately operated reference source for locating the official offices that handle local police reports, county booking records, court cases, and later custody information. It does not host booking-photo galleries or publish a roster of people. The useful question is often which public office has the particular record, because an arrest report, a jail booking, and a court disposition can be held by different custodians.

Purpose and Official Sources

Michigan public-record rules can make some arrest and booking material requestable, but they do not create a single public list for every local event. St. Joseph County's reviewed jail pages did not provide a searchable current-inmate roster or public booking-photo results. That is why the official Sheriff contact and county FOIA route are central when a specific jail record is needed.

City police can hold the report for an incident in Sturgis, Three Rivers, or Centreville. The Sheriff may hold the county booking record if the person was lodged in the St. Joseph County Jail. The courts hold later case information, and MDOC maintains a separate state-custody search for people in state prison or under state supervision. The county record path brings those distinct official routes together without presenting a photo collection.

Records and Lookup Paths

These pages identify the public channels documented for St. Joseph County and label what each channel can, and cannot, answer.

  • The Sheriff and county FOIA route for a particular county booking record, custody question, or record request when no public jail roster is available.
  • City-police routes for incident and arrest reports, including the separate records channels used by Sturgis, Three Rivers, and Centreville-area police services.
  • MiCOURT and the local courts for a case's later disposition, which is separate from the initial booking allegation.
  • MDOC OTIS for state prison or state supervision status, rather than a county-jail-only booking.

Each route has a different custody scope. A reported arrest does not prove current custody, a county release does not resolve a case, and an MDOC result is not a St. Joseph County booking record. Official sources should be checked again when a current answer matters.

Limits of This Reference

This is not a government office and has no affiliation with the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department, the jail, any police department, the courts, MDOC, or another public agency. It cannot take the place of the office that created or maintains a record.

  • It cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, was released, or has a current court status.
  • It cannot release or transfer a person, post bond, schedule a visit, or obtain an official record for a reader.
  • It cannot provide legal advice or decide whether a record, photograph, or court file is releasable.
  • It cannot guarantee that a public office's contact details, fee schedule, or procedures have not changed.

Only the relevant public office can verify current custody, official charges, release information, or the availability of a particular record.

Search Partners

Some pages include search boxes operated by third-party providers. Those providers control their own results, terms, and any charges. If a search tool leads to a paid sign-up, St. Joseph County Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee. That support helps maintain the reference material, but it does not change the need to verify a record with its official custodian.
